An experienced hairdresser from Spalding has launched her own salon ... just weeks after getting married.

Charlotte Browning, 27, followed up a wedding in Cyprus on May 25 with the opening of Mirror Mirror Boutique Salon, in Victoria Street, on Tuesday, having only arrived back home from her honeymoon the previous week.

“We have been getting married at the same time as opening a salon, so it has been a bit crazy,” she said.

Charlotte has launched the venture after working for 10 years at Hedonism, in Broad Street, Spalding, in a self-employed capacity.

On her reason for taking this step, she said: “I just felt ready. I have been promoted so many times at Hedonism I couldn’t get any further. I just wanted my own shop.”

She is joined by Rui Macedo, 25, who worked at Hedonism for three years, as the new business’ salon director.

Charlotte said: “He had a big input into the salon and has helped me with everything along the way.”

The store, the former Head Factor salon, has undergone a three-month refurbishment.

It has four seats for customers, two of which are covered by Charlotte and Rui, but Charlotte says they are looking to recruit two extra members of staff on a ‘rent-a-chair’ basis.
