Sponsors are now in place for the South Holland Business Awards but firms now have more time to enter the competition.
Organisers of the event have extended the closing date to October 21, giving businesses in the area another four weeks to have a chance of being recognised for their outstanding progress in 2013.
There are six categories to enter, Business of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Customer Care, Business Innovation, Supporting the Community and Best Use of IT and Communication.
Special guests at the event on November 20 at Springfields Events and Conference Centre will be Ursula Lidbetter MBE, chief executive of Lincolnshire Co-operative and Jamie Cooper of Network Rail.
Ursula said: “The South Holland Enterprise Day and Business Awards will give people the chance to share knowledge and experience which ultimately helps us all create stronger businesses.”
Jamie, access manager for Network Rail’s Great Northern Great Eastern project, will be talking about the £280 million upgrade of the East Coast Main Line and the opportunities it presents to South Holland businesses.
Phil Scarlett, president of Spalding and District Chamber of Commerce, said: “There are major changes happening to the East Coast railway line going through Spalding which will have an affect on businesses, but will also create opportunities.
“The Enterprise Day and Business Awards event is an opportunity for businesses to learn of Network Rail’s plans for the coming year.”
