A team of accountants will turn from calculators to navigators for charity with a 14-mile trek from Market Deeping to Spalding for charity.

Emma Wilson, James Walsham, Chelsea Wilshire, Kirsty Holmes and Jayne Booth, all from Moore Thompson Chartered Accountants, are preparing for their trek on Sunday, December 13 to mark the tenth anniversary of the firm opening an office in Market Deeping.

This will hopefully not only raise money for our charity fund but also be a celebration and mark the tenth anniversary of our Market Deeping office

The team hope to help Moore Thompson shatter the £3,000 barrier for the year by raising hundreds of pounds for the accounting firm’s own charity, the Moore Thompson Charity Fund.

Emma said: “As a trustee of the fund, myself and five of my colleagues will be making our way from Moore Thompson’s Market Deeping office to its Spalding office on Broad Street.

“This will hopefully not only raise money for our charity fund but also be a celebration and mark the tenth anniversary of our Market Deeping office.

“The trek is over 14 miles so, as accountants and financial advisors, this is a massive physical challenge for us as we are used to working at a desk all day.

“Doing something of more than half-marathon distance is not going to be easy, but this is expected to be our last event of the year and we wanted to do something challenging to raise some money for our charity which is supporting local branches of Cancer Research UK and The Prince’s Trust.

Mark Hildred, managing partner at Moore Thompson, said: ““When we founded the charity fund last year, we could never have dreamed that we would be able to do so much in such a short time.

“We hope this will be a brilliant event and round off our year of successful fundraising, which has seen us raise thousands of pounds for a number of local and national charities.”

“Everyone here is really proud of the team taking part in this walk and we hope this will bring a massive boost to our charity.”
