A NUMBER of local businesses have shown an interest in buying the former D A Green’s site in Whaplode.
A spokesman for King Sturge, the agent charged with selling the 10-acre site and separate 0.87 acre car park, says although the site is still for sale, they are positive about its future after inquiries from a number of local companies. She said most of those who had enquired were looking at its continuing potential as industrial premises.
The main site is on the market for £1.5million and boasts a number of interconnecting and stand-alone industrial buildings with two-storey offices.
The car park comes with a price tag of £100,000.
Ninety-eight staff lost their jobs when D A Green steelwork and cladding company ran into “severe cash-flow problems” last October.
Before it went into administration it had worked on a number of high profile projects, including Nottingham’s Trent Bridge cricket ground and Spalding’s Red Lion Quarter.
