The Economic Development Team is once again working with Spalding Jobcentre Plus to organise the third annual Jobs Fair.
The Economic Development Team at South Holland District Council is once again working with Spalding Jobcentre Plus to organise the third annual Jobs Fair
It will be held at the South Holland Centre in Spalding on Tuesday, April 29 (10am-2pm).
This year’s event will build on the success of the previous two fairs. More than 30 companies and agencies attended to offer job seekers help and advice in how best to apply for jobs, and also to showcase some of the vacancies available at the time.
It will follow the same format, and there are currently over 35 exhibitors booked to attend.
* The team has been tendering for a company to do a strategic review on markets and car parks across South Holland.
The successful applicant is about to be appointed and it is anticipated that this work will start in early April.
This will allow the team to understand the current situation with council-owned car parks and markets.
* Grants4growth (www.grants 4growth.org.uk)is continuing to attract interest from businesses across the district.
To date £113,000 has been offered to local businesses, of which £27,000 has already been claimed.
This has levered in £910,000 of private sector capital being invested as a result of the project so far.
Grants4Growth is simple, straightforward grants and quantifiable action for SMEs to improve efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and help businesses invest to grow.
