A new eco-friendly business complex has opened in Long Sutton with claims to be one of the greenest of its type in the UK.
Canebuzo (Carbon Neutral Business Zone) is a set of seven individual business units suitable for small firms to occupy on a flexible leasehold basis.
Five of the units are still available and they are designed to retain heat and generate energy from natural resources so that firms can enjoy little or no energy bills.
The development has been created by Lincolnshire County Council whose cabinet member for economic development, Coun Colin Davis, said: “There is a real need for small business accommodation in this area and that’s why the county council has lent its support to this venture.
“The units have been designed to be as green as possible which is not only good for the environment, but good for businesses as well.
“The occupiers will be able to enjoy a comfortable climate inside, with little or no additional heating, and a large proportion of the power they use will be generated on site.
“That means their energy bills will be next to nothing and these are business units that make business sense.
“In terms of sustainable development, this project really is leading the way at a national level, showing people around the country just what this new technology can achieve.”
