The Government’s team tasked with boosting business is to visit two local sites this Thursday as part of work to encourage inward investment in the food sector.

Food sector specialists from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) across the country will be given a tour of major food producer QV Foods’ site in Holbeach Hurn and the National Centre for Food Manufacturing in Holbeach.

The idea is for UKTI to get a better understanding of what the area offers to the food industry.

That information will then be used to showcase to investors the potential of doing business in Lincolnshire.

The visit has been arranged by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), which lists agri-food as one of its key priorities for growth.

LEP board member Mark Tinsley, who will host the visit,” said: “Greater Lincolnshire is home to almost a quarter of England’s grade one agricultural land, grows one-eighth of the nation’s food, and processes 70 per cent of the UK’s fish, making it one of the key areas for the UKTI team to highlight to investors.”
