The best of business in South Holland is on show at Springfields Events and Conference Centre tomorrow when economic success will be celebrated.

At least 100 firms are set to be represented at the inaugural South Holland Enterprise Day and Business Awards from 11am until 4pm when the finest examples of customer care, business innovation, community support, use of new technology and communications will be recognised.

There will also be awards for the best apprentice and business of 2013 at the event organised by Spalding and District Chamber of Commerce and Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, with support from both the Free Press and our sister paper, the Spalding Guardian.

Spalding chamber president Phil Scarlett said: “We are so impressed by the quality of applicants for the business awards and it gives us great encouragement to know there are so many individuals and businesses in South Holland that are examples of excellence in enterprise.”

As well as the awards, there will also be a trade exhibition, networking buffet lunch and keynote speeches by Jamie Cooper of Network Rail’s East Coast Main Line Project and Ursula Lidbetter, chief executive of Lincolnshire Co-operative.

Simon Beardsley, chief executive of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am looking forward to the event and would like to wish all the finalists good luck.”
