The search is on to find the best business, apprentice and innovation in South Holland of 2014.
Today sees the launch of the second South Holland Business Awards where firms across the area can showcase their support for the community, care for customers and value to the district’s economy over the past 12 months.
Once again, the Spalding Guardian is giving its wholehearted support to the awards run by Spalding and District Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber president Phil Scarlett said: “We want to recognise the work that South Holland businesses have done over the last year.
“But as well as bringing businesses together to network and make new connections, we will also be applauding the outstanding work that businesses in our area have done.
“However this year, we are expecting things to be bigger and better than before.”
The biggest change will see the awards being presented during a gala ceremony at Springfields Events and Conference Centre, Spalding, on Thursday November 20.
But as last year, winners will be decided in six categories- Apprentice of the Year, Business Innovation Award, Customer Care Award, Support in the Community Award, Small Business of the Year and Business of the Year.
Harry Drury, director of We’ll Let Your House which won the 2013 Business of the Year Award, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses in South Holland to showcase their passion in and dedication to business and South Holland.
“The experience of going through the application and interview process proved invaluable to me as, somehow, I learnt more about the business I was running just by telling someone else about it.
“Having been fortunate enough to win the 2013 Business of the Year Award, I am very pleased to be involved again this year.
“But this time I will be sitting on the other side of the table, learning about the fantastic businesses and compassionate businesspeople we have in our community.”
The awards are open to business right across South Holland, including Crowland, Holbeach, Long Sutton and Spalding, regardless of whether they are chamber members or not.
Entry forms are available from Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce by emailing enquiries@Lincs-Chamber.co.uk and the closing date for entries is Friday October 3.
Harry said: “I know there are potentially fantastic rewards to be gained by entering the 2014 South Holland Business Awards and it is an experience this year’s winners will never forget.”
