A health clinic in Spalding specialising in physiotherapy, massage therapy and the treatment of sports injuries has welcomed a new member to its team.
Gail Davidson is the latest practitioner to join Total Health Care Clinics, High Street, where she will be helping patients with foot, leg, limb and nail problems.
While completing a three-year course to qualify as a podiatrist at the University of Northampton, Gail had work placements in both NHS and private practice before joining Total Health Care Clinics last Monday.
Gail, originally from Edinburgh, said: “It’s been strange coming to a new place to work but the first week was quite busy and I liked meeting all the patients.
“It was usually people from the older generation and it was good to see that most of them felt better when they left the clinic.
“My hope now is that I can help the business to grow.”
The clinic was opened nine years ago by managing director Ben Barker, a specialist in sports injury treatments and consultant osteopath at Aston Villa Football Club who has also worked with rugby and tennis players, marathon runners and bobsledders.
Ben’s expertise in osteopathy, the massaging of a patient’s joints and muscles, has allowed him to open a network of five clinics in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, with a sixth to open in King’s Lynn at the end of this month.
Emma Barker, Ben’s wife and business development manager for Total Health Care Clinics, said: “Ben has been a practising osteopath for 13 years but after a period when he worked for other clinics, including one in Spalding, he decided to set up on his own.
“Ben started off with a small practice in Peterborough, then bought a practice in Spalding and it’s grown from there.
“Our clinic in Spalding is the head office and has seven practioners, six full and part-time receptionists and quite a large database of patients from areas such as Holbeach and King’s Lynn.
“We see Gail as a great addition to the existing therapists we have and a great asset to the Total Health Care Clinics team. We welcome her to our expanding business in Spalding where we treat a wide range of injuries and ailments suffered by patients of all ages.”
