About 25 businesses have so far entered the running for success at the 2013 South Holland Enterprise Day and Business Awards.
With just a week left before the deadline, entries are starting to come in for each of the six award categories to be decided at the event on November 20.
Springfields Events and Conference Centre, Spalding, will host the showcase event for enterprise in South Holland and sponsors have been lined up for each of the awards, including Butters Group, Chattertons Solicitors and Definitions Health and Fitness, Spalding.
Three finalists in each category will be shortlisted and interviewed by a judging panel to include Spalding and District Chamber of Commerce president Phil Scarlett and Springfields Horticultural Society chief executive.
They will be joined by Paul Turnell of Woodhouse Legal Services, Spalding, who has been involved with chamber members in organising the event.
He said: “A business awards event for South Holland hasn’t been held since 2011 and the chamber didn’t wish to lose such an important event, so it set about bringing it back onto the calendar.
“The chamber already planned to hold a South Holland Enterprise Day to encourage local businesses to share ideas and market their services, but we were keen not to let another year slip by without holding the Business Awards so we added it to the Enterprise Day.
“On November 20, businesses will have an opportunity to exhibit their trades and services, mix with like-minded individuals, partnerships and organisations, listen to a pair of key speakers and be part of the Business Awards.”
Guests confirmed for the event are Ursula Lidbetter, chief executive of Lincolnshire Co-operative, and Jamie Cooper who is access manager for Network Rail’s East Coast Main Line improvement project.
Among the awards to be presented on the day are ones for business innovation, customer care and the prestigious Business of the Year award.
