Confident entrepreneurs in Bourne and The Deepings can pitch their business ideas to an inventor who battled to success in TV’s Dragon’s Den.
Grantham-born millionaire Andy Harsley, whose reusable fastener Rapstrap won a £150,000 investment from Dragon’s Den judges Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan in 2008, is one of the judges of SK Pioneers 2014.
The competition for individual traders and newly-formed companies is running alongside Enterprise Week between March 17 and 21.
Prizes include a year’s free website development, six months’ business support and mentoring, a year’s free membership of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, an android tablet and promotional material worth £200.
Joining Andy Harsley in the “den” are Simon Beardsley, chief executive of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, and Coun Frances Cartwright, cabinet member for economic development at South Kesteven District Council.
“SK Pioneers runs alongside Enterprise Week to encourage and help new businesses across our district.
“This competition is a fantastic opportunity for any creative business people to turn their ideas into reality.
“We want to hear about their new and innovative approach, the skills and experience they have to help them develop their business and how they think it will improve the economic climate here in South Kesteven.”
Entries must be in by noon on March 21 and for more details, call Charlotte Watson on 01476 406080 or go to www.skdcenterpriseweek.co.uk
