Business and political leaders from across Lincolnshire are giving their backing to the inaugural South Holland Enterprise Day and Business Awards next month.
Ringing endorsements for the event at Springfields Events and Conference Centre on November 20 have come from South Holland and The Deepings MP John Hayes, South Holland District Council leader Gary Porter and Simon Beardsley, chief executive of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.
So far, about 50 businesses have signed up for the event which includes keynote speeches by Lincolnshire Co-operative chief executive Ursula Lidbetter and Jamie Cooper, of Network Rail, a trade exhibition and the announcement of the very first Business Award winners.
Mr Hayes said: “Britain’s economic recovery is being built, business by business, on the foundations of hard work from small and medium-sized firms like those to be recognised by these awards.
“As the Government Minister who led the rejuvenation of apprenticeships, I am particularly proud of the Apprentice of the Year award because businesses provide jobs which secure opportunities and cement communities.”
