Town forum adds to spending

SPALDING Town Forum has added another £930 to its proposed £209,550 budget for the 2012-2013 year.

The additional sum will go on town centre promotion and will not affect council tax.

The bulk of the budget goes on cemetery and playing field maintence.

John Honnor, Spalding and District Civic Society’s representative, couldn’t understand why it cost similar amounts for Monkshouse Lane and Halley Stewart.

He said: “At least with Monkshouse Lane the general population gets the benefit, with Halley Stewart you might as well say you are giving £34,000 to Spalding United.”
