Pop-up shop for first time buyers

A pop-up shop to help home-seekers look for affordable property to buy is coming to Spalding next month.

It will set out the options available to people, who have a household income of less than £60,000, to buy a home in the district.

EM Homebuy is the Government-appointed agent for the national Homebuy affordable housing scheme and has organised the pop-up shop which will be at the Red Lion Quarter on March 12 from 10am until 4pm.

The initiative is supported by South Holland District Council, in association with Larkfleet Homes .

Coun Christine Lawton said: “One of the council’s key priorities is to increase affordable housing provision across the district. This includes increasing the number of homes to rent and buy at low cost to meet the needs and aspirations of the local community.

“EM Homebuy runs a home purchase scheme designed to make home ownership more affordable.

“If your household income is below £60,000, you don’t own a home, and you can’t afford to buy one, then you may well be eligible for assistance.

“Why not come along on March 12 and meet the team at our ‘pop-up shop’ event to find out more?”

Earlier this year South Holland District Council reiterated its support for further investment in affordable housing by signing up to the East Midlands Declaration on Affordable Housing.
