Michael plans 320-mile trek for charity

A South Holland Growers' Club member will be undertaking a 320-mile trek up the spine of Britain to raise money for charity.

Programme secretary Michael Nell, together with wife Joanne, son Charles (17), and family friend Patrick Hoey (17) will next month be walking 320 miles from Ilam Hall in Staffordshire across The Pennines to finish just across the Scottish border in Kirk Yetholm, Roxburghshire.

By the end of the trip the quartet will have endured around 30,000 feet of climbing across the tough and hilly terrain.

They are doing it to raise money for SADS UK (Sudden Arrthymic Death Syndrome), which is caused by an imbalance in the electrical rhythm of the heart which may lead to premature death and often affects young, fit people.
