Friends making a go of their own salon

Two friends are hoping to cut it in the world of business after opening their own hair and beauty salon, The Pretty Parlour.
Claire Crosby (25) and Ruby Maxwell have taken on a small upstairs room above the barber’s shop in Station Street, Spalding, where they are offering a range of hair and beauty services .
Claire, who most recently been offering a mobile service, has been qualified as a beauty therapist for seven years and is offering a range of treatments, such as gel nails, make-up, waxing and eyelash extensions.
Her friend Ruby, who she met about six years ago, is a level two qualified hairdresser and has most recently been working in a salon in Market Deeping, and has previously worked at Spalding’s Image International
Claire said: “Having our own business is all new to us, so we are just trying to get it off the ground and give it a go.
“We are getting there and are looking forward to welcoming new clients.”
Appointments are available Monday to Saturday from 9am to about 8pm.
As well as general appointments, they also offer hair and beauty services for weddings and events.
