Don't delay – enter our business awards today!

ENTRIES are invited for the second annual Lincolnshire Free Press Business Awards.

It is a simple, cost-effective and efficient way to achieve recognition for the achievements of the magnificent businesses we have in the Spalding area.

Enter your business in one of six categories and you can give it a wider profile and reward the people who work there.

To qualify, businesses must be based or have an office or franchise within the circulation area of the Lincolnshire Free Press.

That means not only Spalding but also Bourne, Market Deeping, Wyberton, Crowland, Holbeach, Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge, Swineshead, Donington and Folkingham – and all associated villages.

It couldn't be easier to enter. Click here to open up the nomination form.

Just decide which category or categories are most suitable then be ready to receive a short, simple questionnaire.

For the three finalists in each category, a judge from out of the area will arrange a visit for an in-depth assessment of the qualities of the products you produce or the services you offer.

Judges are carefully selected by the sponsors who have made this event happen.

They are:

Duncan & Toplis

NatWest

Business Link

Roythornes

Brown & Co

South Holland District Council

Lincolnshire Free Press

All three finalists receive free tickets to our spectacular gala dinner on Thursday, October 9, at the South Holland Centre, Spalding, when there will be short video presentations of what they have to offer.

The winners will receive glittering trophies, with framed certificates for the two equal runners-up.

There is no limit to the number of categories a business can enter and most are expected to enter Business of the Year along with the category that best suits their entry.

But the Service with a Smile Award is different. Here we are appealing to our readers to tell us which shopkeeper or trader gives cheery good service.

We will take a picture of the owners or managers and invite readers to vote in September.

Take a few minutes to fill in the coupon and put your company or manager in with a chance to win a prestigious award and earn well-deserved recognition.

Don't delay, do it today.

Business of the year

The ultimate accolade. This is the business which in the opinion of the judges has shone like a beacon. It is likely to be a strong contender in more than one of the other categories.

Business person of the year

Judges will be looking for that dynamic individual who has made a special contribution to a company. It is likely to be a leading individual or owner – but not necessarily.

Growing business

Judges will be looking for companies that demonstrate sustained growth over the last 24 months. It can be any kind of organisation, from large company to retail outlet.

Customer care

Companies – especially shops and small businesses – that place value on customer care can put themselves forward. This is an ideal category for a satisfied customer to enter on their behalf.

Business start-up

Companies large and small – manufacturing, service and retail – operating for less than two years are invited to enter this category. Judges will be looking for long-term potential.

Best use of technology

Technology doesn't just mean computers – entrants should demonstrate how technology has helped their business, for example, by increasing their profits, by increasing their clients' profits; by impacting on society; by impacting on the environment.

Service with a smile

Readers are invited to nominate a business where they get service with a smile. A vote will decide the finalists. We are looking for the shopkeeper or trader who provides cheery good service.
