Best use of Technology Award - Using technology for a truly personalised gift
West Pinchbeck based www.winegifts4u.co.uk won the Free Press Business Award for best use of technology for the way in which it has used a high speed Internet connection to develop its business.
The company provides a service where website visitors can design their own labels and messages to be put onto bottles of wine as well as mugs, chocolates and flowers. Customers can see their product online as it is designed to their specifications, allowing them to make sure they get a personalised gift.
Director Asgar Dungarwalla said: "If someone designs something themselves then they take a sense of ownership over it and it is a unique gift for them. Using IT allows us to do that."
He said that he believed that the success of the company was also having a positive impact on the area.
"I am really pleased that we have won and I feel delighted for all of our team.
"We use local companies to develop our business and give us a broader portfolio of products and that allows us to put something back into the local community."
