TWO members of Spalding Boys’ Brigade were honoured last week as they were presented with the President’s Award.

Shiloh Luyt and Alex Russell have been with the boys’ brigade for around five years and were presented their awards by the vice-president of South Lincolnshire Battalion Ted Glossop.

The award is the second highest ranking in the organistation and takes a number of years to complete with skills such as first aid and cooking counting towards it.

Captain Judy Taylor said: “It’s not very often any boys qualify for an award of this stature so it’s a big achievement – they’ve had to work hard.”

The boys’ brigade is open to boys and girls aged five and up and meets every Tuesday during school time at Spalding Baptist Church at 5.50pm. For more information contact Judy Taylor on 01775 725713.
