Atlantic Avenue, formed in January this year, will be performing alongside acts such as Marty Jackson and X Factor stars Kingsland Road at a gig at the O2 Academy in Islington in December.
The band, made up of Mario Fragale – from Cowbit – guitar, Ollie Cladd – from Quadring – bass guitar, Liam Stone – lead vocals and Jordan Graham – drums, was put together by Mark Smith from local band A Story to Tell.
Mark said: “My band split up around the time I decided to put together Atlantic Avenue.
“I was lucky that I had been promoting shows beforehand so had a good knowledge of the musicians in the area and could pick the best ones.”
The band has performed at venues such as Met Lounge in Peterborough and Voodoo Lounge in Stamford this year, while also playing at Camden Barfly and Relentless Garage in Islington.
The band has become well known for its pop rock sound, with over 2,000 views of the video for their first single – Look At Me Now – on YouTube.
Mark said: “Liam’s voice is certainly very pop rock – they sound a bit like The Vamps so they are a big hit with the girls.
“We’ve had offers for them to play at 02 Academy in Birmingham and other big venues so there are lots of options for the future.
“I now want them to focus on building up their fanbase in the area and hope to do a ten-day tour with them next year.”
