101 Damnations by Ned Boulting is the Spalding bookshop’s book of the week.

Ned Boulting has contributed features and live reports on 12 Tours de France and is the author of the much-loved books How I Won the Yellow Jumper and On the Road Bike.

His latest book, 101 Damnations, is his report on the 2014 Tour de France, stage by stage, fall after fall, tantrum by tantrum. From Leeds to Paris, we follow Ned as he encounters cycling’s great and good, including Vincenzo Nibali, David Millar, Chris Froome, Chris Boardman (or ‘Broadman’ as some would have it), Marcel Kittel, Mrs Cavendish (Mark’s wife), Peter Sagan and many more. Their endeavours, achievements, humour and occasional rancour, sit alongside his own decade-long quest for the ideal end of race tee-shirt.

Ned weaves together the interesting, amusing and unheralded threads of the race itself in a book which encapsulates all that is incredible about the greatest cycling race on earth.

101 Damnations is £7.99 at Bookmark (RRP £8.99) and there’s a further 20 per cent off with the voucher below.
