Bookmark in Spalding has chosen Silent Night by Jack Sheffield as its book of the week.

Silent Night is the perfect read for the run up to Christmas!

Jack Sheffield has become incredibly popular for his Teacher novels which are both humorous and heart-warming.

If you haven’t read him yet, this is a perfect place to start.

It’s 1984, the time of the miners’ strike, Trivial Pursuit, Band Aid, Cabbage Patch Dolls and a final goodbye to the pound note as Jack returns for a new school year at Ragely-on-the-Forest School.

Christmas is always an important time of year in school but this year the children are to sing a carol in a church in York, and are actually going to be on television!

Keeping his excited children, not to mention their parents, under control taxes Jack and his staff to the limit.

But little Rosie Sparrow’s singing brings some special Christmas magic, and the lives of several people are transformed as a result.

There is 20 per cent off the RRP of £5.99 at Bookmark with the voucher contained in the Spalding Guardian of November 27.
