Bongs from Big Ben and a balloon drop on the dance floor heralded the start of 2016 for the 400 guests partying at Springfields Events Centre in Spalding.

Springfields Horticultural Society chief executive David Norton said: “It had everyone popping and bopping – the balloons were popping and the people were bopping.

“I can honestly say I think we had a wonderful event for all 400 of our guests – they enjoyed a great evening’s entertainment, some of which they made themselves on their own party tables.”

As well as enjoying a meal, there was music from tribute band Take That 2 and a disco.

Surfleet Village hall was the venue for another New Year’s Eve party with music from local band Zebra and partygoers enjoying picnics.
