That wonderfully nostalgic country event Steam Threshing at Bicker takes place this weekend (10am start).
It really is an event for everyone, with working traction engines demonstrating threshing, baling and wood sawing, as well as children’s rides and a model boating lake.
There will be displays of vintage tractors, barn engines and classic cars plus models of fairground, vehicles and street scenes.
There will be plenty of homemade refreshments, hot dogs and a bar, and a selection of stalls.
In addition, St Swithun’s Church will be open all weekend with displays by children, crafters and photographers.
Hymns at Sunday’s service on the field (2pm) will be accompanied by fair organ music.
Entry is £3.50 adults, £1 children.
