THERE was no difficulty in seeing the bank manager for pupils at Ayscoughfee Hall Primary School in Spalding.

Not one but two bank managers spent time at the school teaching pupils in years 4, 5 and 6 how to do real life sums, particularly focusing on budgeting.

Teacher Nicola Laud said Bev Taylor manages Market Deeping branch of Barclays Bank and she arranged for fellow staff, including Sue Hickford, the branch manager at Barclays in Old Fletton, to visit.

Mrs Taylor has a daughter, Gaby, at the school.

Mrs Laud said: “They were teaching children the value of money, how to plan expenditure and how to budget.”

Older pupils worked on a joint project managing the finances for a ‘pretend’ party.
