A local band is hoping 2013 will be the year they hit the big time after securing an eight-date UK tour next month.

A Story To Tell, whose members are predominantly from Spalding, have recently seen the digital release of their debut album and are now taking their own brand of alternative rock/pop on the road.

Their tour, during which they will share the billing with female rockers Disclosure and Everybody Looks Famous, will see them perform in Nottingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Islington.

A Story to Tell was formed in 2010 by songwriter and guitarist Mark Smith, of Piccard Drive, and singer Jack Wychereley, of Park Lane, Spalding.

The final line-up was completed in January 2012 with the addition of Chris Beale, also of Piccard Drive, on bass, George Wood, also of Spalding, on drums and Sam Wood, who lives in Peterborough on lead guitar.

Last month, the band released the music video for their first single Home, taken from their debut album Direction.
