Ball raises £2,200 to help hospital

MORE than £2,200 has been handed over to Johnson Community Hospital’s League of Friends after a successful summer ball.

This year was the third year the annual ball has been held and it has again been heralded as a great success.

The cash was handed over to the Friends by head of clinical services Simon Temple and matron for planned care Sally Brown.

Mr Temple said: “This year’s event was a great success. Hospital staff and members of the public enjoyed a three-course meal and music.

“I am delighted that we managed to raise so much for the Hospital League of Friends, a whopping £1,572 more than last year.”

Coun Angela Newton, chairman of the Leagure of Friends, said: “We are grateful to receive these proceeds and we will continue to do all we can to assist the hospital.”

Plans are now under way for the 2012 ball on July 7.
