BUSINESS colleagues Matthew Woodcock and Karl Gedney are determined to raise £20,000 for the NSPCC, and to prove it they have pledged £5,000 of their own money to start things off.

The pair, directors of Sunseeker UK and both parents of young children, are planning a charity ball with auction at the Castle Sports Complex in Spalding on September 3 to raise funds for the NSPCC because they feel it is “devastating” to think that people commit cruelty against youngsters.

Tickets cost £70 and include a three-course meal, the appearance of a surprise celebrity, a band and disco, as well as a charity auction with sporting memorabilia. The pair are hoping to sell 400 tickets for the black tie dinner.
