Bakkavor in Spalding is holding free “drop in” health advice days for its employees.

Following the successful Health Bus initiative last year, the company is holding the days at its West Marsh Road site this month as part of its commitment to employee health and wellbeing.

The site, which employs over 1,500 people, has been working closely with the South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group for representatives to attend from various Lincolnshire NHS services and the South Holland District Council to raise awareness on what is available and how employees can seek help.

As part of the drop-in days, taking place yesterday and next Wednesday, employees will be offered free health checks including blood pressure, diabetes risk and lung age by health professionals, and representatives from Healthwatch, Lincolnshire Community Health Services, Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership and the Lincolnshire Foundation Partnership NHS Trust will be on site.

Pippa Greenslade, Group HR Director at Bakkavor, said: “We take our employees’ health and wellbeing very seriously. By holding these days we can ensure as many people as possible understand the services available to them and have a free health check. The check only takes a few minutes and could help detect health issues early.”
