SANTA had a late gift for Holbeach Rotary Club for all the effort members put in making the Christmas sleigh.

President elect Andrew Bines has been presented with the district vocational award for using his skills to bring the project together.

Rotary district 1070, which includes towns between Bedford and Boston, presents the awards annually to recognise the voluntary work of its members. Members had the chance to see them at their meeting at Chestnut Tearooms in Gedney.

Helen Scott received the environment award for a recycling project, collecting such things as stamps raise money for charities.

She said: “This is the second year running the club has won this award, so we are really thilled.”
