HOLBEACH charity shop CHOSEN celebrated its first birthday by giving £2,000 to Holbeach Air Training Corps to enable them to purchase a flight Ssmulator.
The charity shop is run entirely by volunteers and gives money to local causes chosen by customers and staff.
The original idea was to give to four good causes a year but the shop has been so successful that a total of seven donations have been made, amounting to £11,300.
There is money held in the bank for a further two donations which have been promised.
Beneficiaries have been Macmillan Cancer Support, the Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity, Linkage Community Trust, Lincs Ark, the Parkinson’s Society and Holbeach Primary School.
Volunteer Jill Hudson-Peacock said: “We would like to thank our customers and donors, who have given so generously.
“Without them, none of this would have been possible.
“It has been a truly momentous year and we hope to be able to continue giving in the same way in our second year.”
