THIS is Lincolnshire Art on the Map week, when the studios of professional artists countywide are open to the public.

Details of which studios have open doors on which days, with addresses and contact numbers, are to be found online at www.artonthemap.org.uk, or on the 2011 Art on the Map directory available from Riverbank Studios, Double Street, Spalding.

There are nine artists in the Fens group welcoming visitors in South Holland and the Deepings, offering a great variety of media and styles of work.

All will be open at least one day from now until Sunday.

Helen Webber of Riverbank Studios, Spalding paints vivid landscapes in a range of media particularly showing fenland agriculture, printmaker Louise Stebbing of Skylark Studios, Tydd Gote also explores the unique atmosphere of Fenland fields as well as more exotic landscapes, and Mo Teeuw, of Moulton, paints oil, acrylic and watercolour landscapes in Norfolk and abroad.

Joan Dowling of Gosberton paints large nudes in oils and landscape-inspired abstracts, Pode Hole artist Adrian Fordham’s work explores symbols, colour and texture, Carolyn Goodwyn of Unique Cottage Studios, Spalding specialises in oil paintings and ceramics inspired by sheep farming and landscapes and Gillian Wing at the same address teaches and makes stained glass.

Contemporary mosaics are the field of Fiona Gurney of Deeping St Nicholas, and Bette Spectarov paints gorgeously coloured canvases at her home in Sutton St Edmund.
