Arthur Edmund Balderson, of Gauntlet Road, Bicker, has died peacefully. He was 100.

Born in Gosberton, he had lived in the area for his entire life.

A widower to the late Irene Balderson, he is survived by son John, daughter Jean, grandchildren Marie, Lynn, Jane and Helen and great-grandchildren Vicki, Natalie, Louise, Vanessa, Katie and Maxwell.

Mr Balderson was a farm worker, working with horses on the land.

In his spare time he was a keen supporter of Boston United, enjoyed a game of bingo and gardening. He was a member of Chapel Men’s Club.

His funeral took place at Bicker Methodist Church and was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by the Rev A. Barker.

Chief family mourners were: John Balderson (son), Jean and Jim Thompson (daughter and son-in-law), Jane and Murray Chambers, Helen and Tony Wilson and Lynn and Martin Lane-Sansam (grandchildren), Vicki and Rhys, Natalie, Louise, George and Vanessa (great-grandchildren), Chris Balderson (sister-in-law), Anthony and June Howard, Pat and Richard Davey and Patricia and Eric Gedney (nephews and nieces).

Unable to attend: Marie and Dave Wand (grandchild) and Michael and Pauline Harvey (nephew and niece).
