HOVENDEN HOUSE received £800 after an anonymous donor gave proceeds from an antiques sale to charity.

Colin Whitwell, of Long Sutton Antiques and Crafts Centre, was asked to sell the items and donate the proceeds to charities, one of which was Hovenden House.

He then visited last Wednesday to present the cheque.

The money will go towards a residents’ fund, where residents of the house decide how to spend it.

Rachel Wadley, fundraising co-ordinater at Hovenden House, said: “I just want to say thanks to the person who donated the money and this is my way of doing so.”
