Thurlby and Market Deeping pet care specialists Animates Veterinary Clinics are the cream of the cat world after landing a top industry award.

The practice, both of whose clinics are just off the A15, is the first in Lincolnshire to receive the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) Gold Award for the standard of care given to cats as its patients.

ISFM is the veterinary division of International Cat Care, a charity seeking to improve standards of cat care and treatment across the world.

Animates’ director Rebecca Kuttel said: “We were delighted to hear that both of our clinics have been awarded the Gold Standard for creating a cat-friendly clinic.

“It makes all the hard work worthwhile and we hope that both our clients and their cats will find their visits to us a little less stressful in the future.”

Both clinics had to apply separately for the award and they are now among more than 200 accredited cat-friendly clinics in the UK.

Dr Andy Sparkes, veterinary director at ISFM, said: “We are delighted that Animates Veterinary Clinics have become gold-accredited cat-friendly clinics which is a huge achievement for them.”
