VOLUNTEERS and groups who go the extra mile to help their community could be in line for awards – but only if you put their names forward.
Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (CVS) is seeking nominations for its sixth annual Local Heroes Awards across South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey.
CVS chief executive Ladey Adey said: “We, as an organisation, are so privileged that we get to work with Lincolnshire’s fantastic voluntary sector on a daily basis, but this is your opportunity to say thank you to those individual volunteers and community groups and organisations you feel make your community what it is.”
Categories are: Voluntary Sector Recognition Certificate (for individuals and groups who have made an outstanding contribution within their community), Jim Hopkins MBE Award (for dedicated young volunteers), Bert Shaw MBE Award (for someone demonstrating excellence in their work on a management committee or board of trustees), Jane Rose Award (for someone who has shown dedication to improving health and wellbeing in their community) and Business Award (for businesses who have encouraged employees to volunteer in their community).
