A Spalding wall which has become a hot topic of conversation in and around the town could soon be made in to a work of art.
The white wall above Superdrug in Spalding could soon become thing of beauty, after those in charge of the building said that they would agree to proposals for the wall if they were appropriate.
Jenny Hill of Superdrug, said: “The plan for artwork on the wall sounds like a good idea, and we’d be happy to consider the proposals we are given.”
Members of Transported previously stated that they would consider helping to make the wall a piece of art if local people were to nominate the site as part of the Transported On Your Doorstep campaign.
The campaign asks for nominations for areas in South Holland which are in need of sprucing up with the chance that the group will do just that and give some TLC to a tired looking area or space.
The Spalding Civic Society has also had its sights set on the wall as part of its latest consultation on improving Spalding town centre.
John Charlesworth from the Spalding Civic Society, said: “Our hope is that an art project like this would help to reflect the history of the area – Hall Place – which was originally an area where field workers would gather while looking for work.”
The time has come for more people to get behind the campaign for change for the Superdrug wall, which can be done by visiting www.trans portedart.com or by filling in the slip at the bottom of this page and sending or dropping it in to the Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian offices.
