A Holbeach blogger who has become known worldwide for her amusing tales of travelling with her family is putting her pen to paper about life closer to home - for a brand new column in the Lincolnshire Free Press.

Award-winning Trish Burgess, who some may have seen in the spotlight treading the boards in Spalding Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (SADOS) productions, has been writing an online diary since 2007.

It grew after 2009 following a family holiday to Iceland and the blog was renamed ‘Mum’s Gone To...’

Married to Dougie, a local GP, and with a 17-year-old son, Rory, Trish said: “It is now a place where I talk about family life and, more specifically, travel, but hopefully always with a sense of humour.”

Now Trish hopes to share a lighter look at life in South Holland with Free Press readers in Trish Takes Five. She said: “I love writing and finding the fun in things - hopefully your readers will enjoy my stories, too.”
