THE weather was kind to members and friends of Fleet Baptist Church for its summer fete.

Visitors of all ages were treated to a barbecue cooked by church leader Ross Dean.

A tombola stall, games and a steam wagon operated by Mike and Jackie Bolton from Gedney also proved popular.

The event was held to raise money for the church’s upkeep and organisers are waiting to confirm the total amount raised.

Joyce Waterfall, one of the organisers, said: “It was a lovely afternoon and very well-supported.

“We had people who came from the surrounding area who played games like nails in the colander and throwing marbles into the plant pot.

“We were very fortunate with the weather.”
