Paddling in creeks on the marsh at Gedney Drove End was the way to spend a sunny day in the 1920s.

This is the Doughty family – dad Dick, who was landlord of The White Hart at Long Sutton, his wife and another female, daughters Mollie and Norah and son Dick. That little boy, Dick, is the father of Paul Doughty of Long Sutton who submitted the picture to Long Sutton & District Civic Society along with other memorabilia for its World War One exhibition.

Wendy Jeffries, who is events organiser for the society, said she believed Laddies Ice cream cart would have been on the bank somewhere.
