Farmers and growers that play such an important part in the local community will be celebrated on Sunday.
It’s plough Sunday, traditionally held at the beginning of the agricultural year and something that has seen a revival in recent years.
Moulton Chapel Methodist Church steward David Hemmant and his wife Karen have organised a service at the church for 10.30am, to include a talk on the flower and bulb industry by Johnnie Walkers, a demonstration of how daffodils were once packed, as well as hymns, prayers and a blessing of the plough that will be in church. The service will be followed by soup and a ploughman’s lunch at £4 a head – contact the Hemmants on 01406 380443.
There are Plough Sunday services elsewhere, including Gosberton Clough Methodist Church (3pm).
