A HYPNOTIST who was able to convince people they had had a gastric band fitted had to be one of the more unusual exhibitors at the pamper day at the Red Lion Quarter in Spalding.

Image consultancy, nail art, bead jewellery, threading and henna art were just some of the treatments and attractions available at the free event organised by Maria Waudby, an administrator at the Red Lion Quarter.

The day and a raffle raised £214.47 for the Eve Appeal, the gynaecology cancer research fund, and Maria said: “We wanted an event in the building and we wanted to tie it in with a good cause because we have all had people we have lost through cancer.”

Some of the Boston College beauty students performed massages and there were taster sessions of reflexology, kinesiology and crystal facial wand healing.
