Vote against BMX track at park

HOolbeach councillors have voted against the addition of a BMX track to Carter's Park after opposition from residents.
Last month parish councillors discussed the possibility of creating a track in the park after town youths lost their skate park because of sustained vandalism to it.
The council thought it could overcome existing bylaws prohibiting cycling in the park by fencing off the area from the main park, close to the Tesco fence where the small football posts are located.
But members had to take a vote after some councillors said they had received complaints from members of the public about the proposals.
Ten councillors voted against adding a track to the park. They agreed they were not against a BMX track in Holbeach and decided to look at alternative venues.
The future of the town's skate park will also be looked at again in May after councillors have visited Arnold, Nottinghamshire, to view several facilities.
