A 91-year-old woman almost fell victim to a distraction burglary in Market Deeping
The attempt took place between 3.30pm and 4.15pm on Friday (July 18) at a warden-controlled apartment complex in Joan Wake Close, Market Deeping.

Two men aged between 30 and 35 approached the building and spoke to the woman through her window, persuading her to open the exterior door to her block.

The men then knocked on her flat door but were challenged by one of her neighbours and ran off.

One is described as being of medium build, about 5ft tall with short dark hair.

The second was stocky and about 6ft 2in tall.

Anyone with any information can call Stamford Police Station on (01780) 752222, quoting incident number 304 of July 18.
