Flower parade organiser Chris Elliott has paid tribute to the help the support vehicles offered to the event.
He said: "Some people mentioned that there were too many trucks at the parade but they don't realise that they are there for breakdown support and we have to have them there as back-up.

"Fortunately they were not used but the refreshments were certainly called into action."

His comments followed a letter published in the Spalding Guardian on Thursday "Worst seen in our 26 years."

Several companies provided vehicles to act as support in case the floral floats broke down.

JW Doubleday, Pecks, DW Woods and Roger Tuby all provided breakdown vehicles for the event.

Tulip Radio also had a car broadcasting from the 50th parade and Marcus Cowling Labour Services Ltd was on hand to offer refreshments.

Steve Howard drove a minibus from the firm which handed out some of the 800 bottles of drink donated by Aldi to thirsty children taking part in the parade.
