So many Baston Primary School pupils wanted to learn how to cook that they had to get in line to join the new Let's Get Cooking Club.
Each of the junior year groups has been allotted half a term to learn the basics at the school's most popular after school club.

This month 12 year fives took over from year fours and learned cutting skills by chopping vegetables at their first session with club leader Judy Simpson.

She said: "Let's Get Cooking is a Lottery-funded nationwide initiative and we joined it in September by starting the club for over-sevens.

"So many wanted to join that we have had to stagger their attendance and they are really enthusiastic.

"The idea is to encourage children of all ages to cook and each week they learn a different skill.

"It seems to be working as quite a few of the year fours who were with me last half-term have been trying recipes at home!"
