Students and teachers past and present reunited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Peele Community College.
A reception was held at the Long Sutton secondary school on Saturday and was attended by 260 former students.
Some of them were the first ever pupils to appear on the school's register in 1958 and they got the chance to relive their school days by taking a look at memorabilia on show.
Mandy Robinson, one of the organisers, said it was a fitting way to mark the school's golden jubilee.
She said: "A lot of former teachers came along, as did an awful lot of original students and older teachers.
"People commented that it was good to catch up with those they have not seen for a long time.
"People were talking and swapping addresses and phone numbers and in the end we had to kick them out.
"They wanted to stay well after the school closed."
Gillian Ross, a finance officer at the school whose husband Stephen was a design technology teacher there for more than 30 years, said: "It was a nice way to signal 50 years of the school.
"It went very well and everyone enjoyed reminiscing and talking about their future."
