PINCHBECK library will only open for two days a week because staff based at Adult Study Centre are moving out.
The library opened in May at the centre in Knight Street, with a librarian on site on a Tuesday and Thursday and a self issuing scheme on the remaining week days.

Staff who manned the centre during the self issuing days are moving out and Lincolnshire County Council says that because of that the facility will only be open when a librarian is available.

The council says having no staff on site causes issues with health and safety and that people prefer to use the library when it is staffed.

Coun Eddy Poll, executive councillor for economic development, said the two day a week service, from 10am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday, plus fortnightly mobile library visits mean that the service is better than that at the start of the year.

He added: “This is still ten additional hours of library provision for the community that was not previously available before May 1.”

Customers can renew or reserve books online or call the customer service centre.
