The revamped BMX track at Market Deeping is to be sponsored by Larkfleet Homes.
The track at John Eve Way is in need of refurbishment and Bourne-based Larkfleet is providing £2,695 to complete funding of the project.

Managing director Karl Hick said: "Larkfleet is committed to improving the local community in which it operates. We are looking forward to working with Market Deeping Town Council on this venture."

The main sponsor of the track is WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited), a not-for-profit environmental body registered to fund projects eligible under the Landfill Communities Fund.

Town and South Kesteven district councillor Reg Howard said: "The BMX track is well used by local children and bike enthusiasts and was a well received venture when it was built in 2004.

"The sponsorship money we have raised from Larkfleet and WREN will help to maintain this community asset."

The council considered the idea of renovating the BMX track in October.

At that time councillors received a presentation from students at The Deepings School who said they wanted to see improvements.

Following a two-week consultation, a successful application for £24,500 was put forward to WREN.

This money also helped to pay for improved play equipment, which is offically being opened on Thursday, July 31.

Work is due to begin on the BMX track in September to bring it in line with regional standards.
